From time to time by politics and public administration comes out something good. Here's the description of a beautiful project created by the Province of Rome.
The project consists of installing Province WIFI in public squares, libraries and meeting places of the province of equipment for the free Internet access.
The project started as the first authoritative core of a federated network that can also connect networks of individuals or other institutions. The basic idea is to pool resources and share the benefits with other networks of libraries, institutions, community centers, centers sport and recreation. Not only
thus create access points, free internet, but to provide the connection to utility networks such as that of the University of Rome, giving students a way to connect to Wi-Fi network of his university without coming to Rome.
To do this they have been signed agreements with municipalities, CNR and various consortiums
The Consortium Foundation and the Rome wireless digital world, we are covering important Roman squares and 50 senior centers. Also for the city of Rome, was banished to install a European race, in agreement with the municipalities, some 250 hot spots by 2010.
The project is open to the contributions of individuals, businesses and nonprofits, who can install access points on their premises, in compliance with legal requirements for access to the Internet, offer a service to their clients or associates.
